stevemac 445
Thanks mate because of her speed and the small farm we usually hunt on the runs tend to be short but she has very quick recovery and has plenty of runs on an afternoon out. two of her sisters are out west where the runs much longer and they dont seam to have any trouble with a long nights hunt. stevemac Quote Link to post

DiStuRBeD 0
shes a good looking dog hey steve, is it from james mate? i cant recall my mates got a litter of first x's on the way by the looks of it, but we are in australia so frieght would be a killer His deerhound has amazing feet and stamina to burn, bit slow on the takeoff compared to a greyhound obviously but he does well, runs in some real rough contry, full of double g's(really nasty prickles) and a lot of rock. the greyhound is showing the goods, has tough feet too which is suprising as she was a track dog her whole life, lived in a kennel. kind of interesting watching her learn how to be a normal dog, she runs and wants to turn to the left a lot of the time but. only thing that puts me off a first cross is they are almost always brindle another thing to consider is a lot of peoples opinions are set on their experience with 1 or maybe a few dogs, and then they make an opinon of all that type dont think here in australia u can go to wrong with a dog wtih deerhound/grey in its makeup for hunting what we hunt anyway, if it wasnt for the old roo dogs australia woudlnt be in the same position it is today as they really helped the early settlers Quote Link to post
stevemac 445
Yes mate she is from james, they are about 2.5yrs old now Gaby has taken more to her greyhound mother hence her great turn of speed. her sister silver is a much better blend of the two breeds she is a bit bigger stronger and has better endurance on long runs. though I would say gaby is better at taking down large game. I am sold on the f1 and I think I will allways have this type in the future the big Question that will play on my mind until shes bred will be who to put her to the posibiltes are endless. DiStuRBeD 0
hmm yes depends what you want in the dog i guess at the end of the day, do you want to go for a real good roodog, to keep the more greyhoundish attributes, or a greyhnound again, or deerhoudn, wolfhound hehe Quote Link to post
