its no wind up novice

one of the top tunny fishermen from the 20s & 30s was a mr L.MITCHELL-HENRY and author

of many tunny fishing books and designed many reel rods and hooks for tuna

and also world record tunny holder of 851lbcought on 11/9/1933

heres a extract from one of his books called tunny fishing at home and abroard printed in 1934

 

the auther with his world record tunny 851lb

caught on the improved mitchell-henry reel on a line of 152lb breaking strain

mitchell -henry hook

bait, mackerel

time,1 hour 47 minutes

boatman, harry wray

tender, "success"

place, 40 miles of whitby

off the west coast of ireland boats go out from sligo,donegal i think around july to sept

is it all nets mate or can you charter a boat and fish for them?

you can charter a boat out of mullagmore county sligo for tuna

yes john there has been some huge blue fin tuna caught of the west coast of ireland

in the last 20 years the irish rod caught record is 970lb caught by adrian molloy

on a charter out of kilcar south west donegal

its not just the tuna fishing in Ireland mate there's very few places that would match Ireland for sea and course and game fishing mate... :thumbs: john and then theres the :drink::drink:
been looking up on the internet you have some cracking sea fishing mate we are comong over later on in the year :thumbs:
