We had already applied for what is called a Carte de Sejour which is basically an identity card with some residency rights, and we will have to renew that with a post Brexit one. They have just announced that all Brit residents will need to apply for French driving licences, but we have them anyway. It might get difficult for those living under the radar; UK registered vehicles, no French tax paid, and the like, but for s little will change. What isn't getting reported in the UK press is that over two years ago a lot of EU countries with large British populations made assurance to them irrespective of any EU regulations. Spain, France and Cyprus for example all assured resident Brits that they could stay even though technically that decision is in the hands of the EU.
