treefella 24 Posted January 11, 2008 Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 hi everyone im new to this site but hope to read and have some interesting talks with people about my dogs and yours has anyone ever heard of a 1/2 saluki 1/2 collie working. i bought one a year ago when she was 9 months old. i spent the summer training her and she has turned into a cracking dog on rabbits day and night considering there is no greyhound in her she is fast. i used to race her against my car and she would hit 40mph. she has coursed a few hares by accident, i was on land i thought there was none. the slips were very long so a a result she missed them but still got a bit of time left to bag a few hares. il post some pics soon when i work out how to do it. anyone else had a lurcher of this breeding or heard of them working. iv asked the local lurcher lads and they thought i was stupid buying her till they saw her run, she is as good as my mates working saluki greyhound. your thoughts would be interesting on this subject cheers lads Quote Link to post

shepp 2,285 Posted January 11, 2008 Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 Why would you bother, more than enough stamina in a collie grey and would be a good deal faster than with the saluki blood. Could also be a chance of very highly strung dogs. Quote Link to post
