Yesterday evening saw me and my mate having a look about his small game shoot for a buck. It was a nice evening and I was full of optimism. We stalked to the far end of the ground and spotted a mature buck but he was on his travels and disappeared as quick as he appeared. I glassed back behind us and couldn't believe a buck was out feeding where we had just been. A plan was hatched that involved stalking down the back of a shelter belt to get in position but when we got there he had vanished. Ever the optimist we continued back to our favourite lying out spot watching a wood edge where the roe always emerge from at last light. Anyway after lying there for half an hour out popped a dog fox which my mate duly dispatched  , bonus eh so now not too bothered if the roe didn't show but they always do. True to form 3 does emerged followed eventually by a buck.......So a great result without moving  from the spot ....
