Got myself a mobile phone a while back, McMillan suggested it keep in touch with the world set me up with online banking, over the weekend, I noticed amazon prime took out my account £5 , ive never had dealings with them, wether my good lady wife dealt with em in the past I dunno, so rang Barclays up, what a bloody performance, indian call centre, hrs of a job and got nowhere, was told to go get some cash out the mc, and they would discontinue my card. no I said , I will go my bank today Monday, so at the bank told em my problem, according to him its a regular occurrence with amazon, so he says get some money out the mc, I will issue you with a new card, does just that, then he tells me, I have put a stop to amazon you can keep your old card id how the fek can amazon do this, im not with this technology

If I was to speculate I'd say you have an Amazon account for buying stuff with your card details registered on there. Then at some point in the past when buying something you've been flashed the offer of joining Prime for the benefit of free delivery etc etc and gone for it unaware that it is a monthly payment.

Perhaps not you, perhaps your late wife?

god knows how long its been going on for, anyway its cancelled now thank mate
