roller 0
Are those little battery lights you can get fitted on scopes any good when night time rabbit shooting? if not what are they for? Quote Link to post
FJager 0
Not sure what lights you are referring too Roller, but if you are after a handy scope/lamp setup, lightforce do a fairly good one. Just realized what you meant Roller, are u talking about 'Surefire' type torches and the many spin offs that you see on tactical weapons? If so mate, they are generally used by the military and law enforcement agencies for enclosed spaces and relative short range and are no substitute for a spotlight (lamp). They are extremely bright and as such they have a very short battery life. They were basically designed with the idea of stunning the person on the receiving end, and giving a tactical advantage to the user. Hope this helps Edited January 7, 2008 by FJager Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
I was given a scope mounted lamp and battery recently by a keeper pal, its brilliant, cant stay in of a night now, as soon as its dark I am out there shooting every bunny in the parish well trying my best anyway It says Deben tracer on the back of the light and it has a clip on mount thingy, I work it off a 12v battery pack which fits neatly in one pocket, and it has an on off switch which mounts to the gun with a velcro backing. I would say these kits are well worth the money spent if you do decide to buy one, allthough I am not sure if thats the kind your asking about Quote Link to post
Caravan Monster 323
I know the lights you are asking about (advertised in airgunner) - I would stick to a conventional lamp - can't believe those little torch things have enough range for lamping in the fields. I use Deben Tracer Atom too, but avoid the model with the dimmer on the switch- it will do your head in. Only problem with the atom is that although it' s plenty powerful enough to shoot with when you have found your rabbit, it does not have enough range to scan around the wider area. Quote Link to post
