You should really leave it atleast a year Phil - your's might be a bit young yet. "Make it one season to drink the next"

 

And if you can try and only drink one bottle a year for the first few years so you end up with some 2, 3 years or older :yes:

john b ive just read u can add almond essence to your sloe gin have u tried it and if so what u think of it phill

 

You can do it, but found very little differance between with or without almonds essance, The almond essence flavour comes out well enough in our version but i think it is because we leave our gin of the slow for a good couple of months.

 

May be teaching granny how to suck eggs, BUT rather than spend hours pricking the fruit, try freezing the fruit for a week then put sloes frozen into bottle. Skins split lovely and let the flavour Flood out - just like PG!!!

also try it with Vodka! really good! :toast:
