neil cooney 10,417 Posted September 2, 2017 Report Share Posted September 2, 2017 About ten years ago I had a lovely promising young bitch die from Lungworm and at the time it was nearly unheard of. Ever since then you hear of scares regarding it but never hear of the epidemic that's threatened. A couple of lads on here reckoned a lot of the whole lungworm thing was a lot of scaremongering by vets, and you know something, I'm beginning to agree with them. It seems to just be something that if it get's your dog so be it. Just use a wormer that does "slugworm" and don't leave food bowls and bones out at night where a slug or snail might crawl across them at night and hope for the best. It's not something that should keep you up at night. I asked a vet how is it that farmers have always dosed for lungworm routinely but only recently it's killing dogs. She said she wouldn't know as she only deals with pets !!!!! Quote Link to post
