Steviec 190
Morning everyone I hope I'm not being too cheeky but I'm looking for a little bit of help with introducing my Lurcher pup to ferrets. It's been well over thirty years since I owned a running dog and Unfortunately I've lost contact with mates who kept ferrets so thought I would ask here. If there's some kind person out there who doesn't mind me bringing my pup along it would be most appreciated, she's nearly 11 weeks old, had all her jabs so will be able to go out and about from tomorrow. She's gonna be a bit too young to do anything serious this season so I'm really just concentrating on training and breaking her to livestock. I'm also planning to get set up with a couple of ferrets myself next year so hopefully I could also pick up a few pointers and some advice too. I live in South Leeds in West Yorkshire but I definitely don't mind traveling a bit further afield if needs be. Hopefully someone can help. Many thanks in advance and atb. I've also posted this in the ferreting section. Steve Quote Link to post
Bobtheferret 1,279
Best thing you can do is get some ferret kits now and then the puppy and the ferrets can grow up together and all will be ready next season. If you wait till next season for ferret kits they might not work properly in their first season and it will give dog and ferrets plenty of time to get used to each other. Good luck! 3 Quote Link to post
