pesky1972 5,634
Pesky, I think your totally wrong, In this day bristow, Wilson, Lowe, would all have raised the game as the standard would make bring them along, can you imagine if Taylor was born same date as bristow then you saying Taylor would be lucky to make it through first round hahaha,They may well have done..., and they may not. All I said is that the darts they threw back then wouldn't see them close to the top boys nowadays. Even the likes of Taylor & Barney struggle to win titles now and they haven't got worse.., the competition's just got better.
gnasher16 31,371
I agree with you Bracken boy if those old timers were playing today they would be at the same level todays top players are thats just how sport evolves through the generations but Taylor is totally unique in that the dedication and perseverance it takes to reach the top wears most people down eventually like it did Bristow and many others but Taylor still has the same hunger and desire he always had not just in winning but in improving as a sportsman.....for me Van Gerwen has more talent and ability than Taylor ever had but i just cant see him having the longevity Taylor had i dont think we really appreciate him as we should do. bracken boy 584
Barneys got better but Taylor has got worse as his doubles are shocking at present but only in this day and age, I think mvg will do somethink even greater soon and then in about 4 or 5 years time there could be a great awesome player around but I may be wrong, end of day I'm loving the journey, all the best.
