terryd 9,022
Out with the lamp Friday night and managed 2 out of 4. Very good runs though and gave the dog a stretch out. Dew on the grass and clear skies so not good conditions. Out with the ferret Saturday morning but not a good spot with just a bit of scent about. Was more of a training session than any thing and just a walk around with a few pics lol another epic block buster he was listening that day lol Sunday morning we nipped across the road by the dual carriage way. Kept the dog on a rope so he could get in the hedge. One thing he has done this winter now is he will check out nearly every hole he see's where as last year he would only go and look if there was scent close by. So I like that. He gave a nice mark so tied him up much to his disgust I made an extra effort setting the nets the tidy as they had to hold until I got to them with out the dog. Popped the old ferret in and a few seconds later the dogs lugs went up so I new we were in business. Out popped the rabbit from a hole under a tree. You could see the tunnel going through the roots then the rabbit had 3 choices and I had a net on each and he was well pursed. Ferret was straight back in then showed and gone again. Quite some time then it was all quiet so I scanned both sides with the locator and nothing. Got bit worried then I may have missed her because the constant drone of traffic in the back ground was off putting. But I eventually found her about 4 1/2 feet down in the hedge. made a start on digging but was chuffed she showed when I was half way. So that was it really oh and I just dont like the mark 3 locator all this beeping and squeaking much more straight forward with the mark 1 3 Quote Link to post
Sirblessed 2,511
Dew on grass lucky b, it’s like concrete here, and will be until late may next year, dogs rip their stop pads a fair bit this time of year, goes with the territory. Have to manage them, slows me up a bit. a.t.b.mate 1 Quote Link to post
