Around permission this morning with a nice frost again. The farmer said crack on but don't disturb the sheep. What he didnt say was they were flighty buggers so I kept well away so only had a couple of fields to walk. Back home for a cuppa and nipped to the market for some spuds. But still fancied a wander with the dog. So boxed up the ferret again and set off on foot for a quick walk about.

The dog gave a nice mark but it was a big old hedge that I couldn't see over. I got some purse nets down and a few stop nets. The place was riddle little bolt holes every where.

I got the ferret out and held it up so the dog new it was going in. He gave me the thumbs and said I am ready ;D

It was like having a person there. We just stared at each other and I saw his ears change when the ferret popped out his side for a second. Then he saw my ears change when the rabbit flew out of an unseen bolt hole my side and I went legging it up the hedge shouting get him. It took a completely different route than expected and missed the stop net. It set off on a long up the hedge. The dog tried to come through and changed his mind as it would been too slow and started leggin it up his side parallel with the rabbit my side. They were coming to an open gate and I thought wouldn't it be good if it came through the gate and snapped it up. But he came through a second too late.

He got it to ground but I couldn't watch both sides and it too close to the dual carriageway to leave him lose to do his thing so left for another day.

Great fun and loved watching the dog working
