West Wexford Harriers Annual Hound Show

 

Our Annual Hound Show will be held on the 10th of July 2016 in Cassagh, New Ross, Co. Wexford.

Classes for All.

Great Day out for all the Family.

BBQ, Bouncy Castle, Face Painting, Monster Raffle, Pet Show, Flapper Racing, Digging Competition and plenty more attractions.

 

Flapper Racing starts at 10.30am and will run racing before and after the showing classes.

Digging Competition at 12pm.

Hound, Lurcher, Terrier and Whippet classes begin at 1pm.

Gun Dog classes begin at 2pm followed by the Pet Classes at approx. 3pm in the same ring.

We are also running Ferret Classes.

 

Winner of each class receives a rosette and a bag of nuts.

Winner of the Champion Lurcher receives a Perpetual Cup sponsored by Oliver Roche

Winner of the Champion Terrier receives The Anthony Dunphy Perpetual Memorial cup sponsored by Petmaster

Winner of the Champion Hound receives a Perpetual Cup sponsored be Tommy and Ber O'Brien.

 

We are holding a Monster Raffle on the field that day with great prizes.

 

Overall Champion wins 5 bags of nuts.

Directions take the N25 out of New Ross heading for Rosslare/Wexford take the a right turn beside the Centra filling Station opposite the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola. Continue along the road for approx. 3km. The show will be situated in the soccer pitch on the right beside J&A Morrissey Pub. The show will be signposted on the day.

      Hi folks just an update on our show,
      This show is without doubt Irelands largest fundraising dog show, in only four years of bringing this show back to life, we are very proud to have raised £41000 for cancer related charities…
      This year we returned to Daisy lodge cancer fund for children, a local charity that does amazing work for kids and families affected by cancer….  We smashed last years amount of £14000 to reach an outstanding £17000….  
       
      We would like to thank every person who has supported our show, sponsorsed and donated gifts for an amazing raffle..   We had over £1500s worth of prizes for the raffle….  A very special thanks to Margaret Mcstay for advertising, The legend dog racing team of the McGrath Family, Dwtc for ongoing support, And  Burren working dog show team.. Thanks everyone and roll on 2026….   A show not to miss

      ****Great News for Our Dog Show Fraternity  in 2026 Re : 5 Nations/Mick The Miller/MasterMc Grath **** Carlow
      It has been decided by the Mc Grath Lurcher Racing Club and by kind permission of  Mr AJ Titterington of The Great Game Fairs of Ireland, that their Annual Dog Show event in Carlow 2026 will take place over a two day event. 
      *Saturday the 27th June 26 will be Showing only for the 5 Nations and All Ireland Showing.
      *Sunday 28th June will be for Racing Only for the Master Mc Grath / Mick the Miller and All Ireland Racing. 
      Please note, All dogs that have qualified for the 5 Nations/Mick The Miller and Master McGrath in 2025 will again automatically be qualified for 2026 event. If a dog that has won a show is already qualified in 1st or 2nd then the qualifier will go to 3rd place.
      This is just a heads up for now, full details and schedule will be issued at later date.
