Maximus Ferret 2,065
to be fair, a lot of the comments are bollocks. where is the evidence that any cruelty was involved in the killing of these deer? waste, maybe, but that is a matter for the person who killed them: if they didnt want to sell for whatever reason that is ther prerogative, it is not a "crime against wildlife" or a crime against anything else for that matter. if someone has killed those deer on their own land or with permission then it is nobodys business what they do with them. hes talking about managing numbers but then criticising someone for doing so! and the bit about water supply is a red herring too, nobody is being supplied water from any source without it being treated first. load of sensationalised shit In Ireland a lot of people get their water from wells so it's not a red herring. If I remember rightly, few years ago someone high up in the deer society was prosecuted for dumping carcasses in a drainage ditch. Now almost all those deer have had the meat removed, except for a couple that may have been rejected for having fluked livers or something similar. Certainly the one at the front with meat on it has had the feet and head removed which suggests that someone started processing it then stopped after gutting it ???? I hate wholesale slaughter like that but it does go on where the population is high enough to damage forestry interests and it always will. Dumping in the open like that is real shitty but at least the meat got used. That's my two penneth anyway.
