This is the first oil fired boiler we've had and I can't believe how economical they are compared to gas. We filled the oil tank to the brim at the beginning of October and we've just squeezed 700 litres in there now, so 140 litres a month through the Winter.

I'm well impressed. I know it depends how much you use it but is that about par for the course?

What's that about £35 a month? For gas heating hot water and cooking I pay an average of about £52 a month through the winter so it does, even taking the cooking into account seem cheaper.

We were spending about £100 a month on gas heating before. Admittedly our cooker here is calor gas and electric.

And if you got off your arse a chopped more logs it would be cheaper still :whistling: :whistling: :whistling::D

That's about the same as us for oil fired heating and water. But don't forget the heating oil is 25% of the price it was two years ago mate. Batten down the hatches before the rascals hit us with a price hike which will happen as soon as they can.
