out of all the gundog breed cockers tend to be the pickiest in my opinion they get bored with retrieving as there too busy wanting to graft I owned one and you got about 6 good retrieves a day out of her before she got bored -my mate has one and he is having same problems with his I own 2 springers and they would retrieve all day for me labs retrieve anything all day too --so my take on it would to make a nice rabbit skin dummy and throw it down a passage way or narrow opening and see how it goes from there if dog picks up dummy make a right fuss and see if dog comes to you -reward if it does and LEAVE it at that do same thing next day ONCE -reward LEAVE it at that -slowly build up a few more retrieves to get dog to trust you and the second you think its not going right -don't get mad and start cussing at dog as that is the bit dog will remember and you will fail -good luck -billy
