pegandgun 52 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Share Posted September 27, 2005 YOUR GUN WILL BE FINE.JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE AN OPEN CHOKE IN BOTH BARRELS.HALF CHOKE THROWS A THREE QUARTER CHOKE IN STEEL SO YOU WANT A MAXIMUM OF HALF CHOKE IN THE SECOND BARREL AND QUARTER (HALF WHEN USING STEEL) CHOKE IN FIRST BARREL Steel cartridges have a full length wad which is why they throw much tighter patterns Quote Link to post

Guest baldie Posted September 27, 2005 Report Share Posted September 27, 2005 The main reason you shouldnt go above 1/2 choke, is , steel wont compress in the choke, like lead will, so it could take the barrel end off, if the choke is too tight, some reloaders get round this , by adding a percentage of plastic pellets to their shot charge, this allows a certain amount of compression, like lead shot does.
