The Seeker 3,048
Even better book IMO Ginger Lacey Fighter Pilot.. Yes Bader and several others re calibrated their guns to give maximum killing distance but the master of them all when it came to out and out shooting skill was George Beurling, a Canadian pilot who removed the tracer rounds from his .303 machine guns to give himself more live rounds. He claimed he didn't need to know where his shot was going by using tracer he knew where it was. He shot down 27 in just fourteen days over Malta. He recorded kills at extreme range including the longest confirmed kill by a Spitfire pilot at over 800 yards
