Coypu Hunter 486
So there I was, in our utility/mud/gun room, thinking how it was five weeks since I'd shot my last coypu. The Zastava 22LR had been sitting out just in case, since the previous two coypus had turned up a couple of weeks apart, and it's a faff to dismount then remount the video camera, re-zero it and so on.Anyway, I decided to take the camera off, dust down the rifle, give it a light rub with Ballistol and put it away in its slip. Just finished that, and went back into the kitchen, where I glanced out of the window -- and saw a bleedy coypu heave itself out of the lake and start chomping away on the lawn!Back to the utility room, rifle out, camera on, re-zero the Handycam, round in the chamber, and squeezed off the shot. I put a 40-grain Winchester Super X subsonic hollowpoint through his left ear, and it exited just underneath the right ear. The critter measured 50 cm (20") nose to butt, 85 cm (33") nose to tail, and weighed in at 4.5kg/9.5lbs.Now: do I leave the rifle out, or put it away again?!?Here's the video: https://youtu.be/ysFvhL1mJzsAnd here's a piccie. 2 Quote Link to post
jonnie bravo 572
What a beast! If you want to have some more coypu sport, I suggest taking the camera off and putting the rifle away. That's how Sods law works! 2 Quote Link to post
