hunter1 63
I f you have a look on guntrader .You get a new cz 222 for £595 I would get a rifle which has some good reviews . You do not see marlin very much so that tells you something. Buy the right one its hassle with all the paper work and waiting .. Quote Link to post
hunter1 63
I brought a second hand mint Remington bdl 222 for £425 it would shoot one hole 3shot groups with my home loads . The is some good second hand rifles out there. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Don't underestimate the underdog brands. I have a zastava .22-250 and not many had heard anything about it. But it turn's remington import the barrel and action for their remington 798 and also the remington model 5 is a zastava action. I'm not at all sure about the marlin rifles, I originally wanted a Howa 1500 but got the zastava brand new for a straight swap with my cz hmr, I'm that happy with it I'm getting a 2nd zastava in a bigger calibre for deer and also a 3rd in .22lr for the wife. 1 Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
Not sure about the rifle but a fine calibre choice sir a good used CZ 527 would be my choice, .222 is not a barrel burner, so a good careful check of the usual bits, bore, crown etc and you will have a superb fox and small deer rifle. I agree cc a fine calibre choice, i dont know about .222 not being a barrel burner i was advised by a gun smith not to buy second hand .222 but to buy new, so that what i am going to do i am getting a browning a bolt Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
The A bolt is a good rifle, buying a used .222 would not worry me providing I could have it borescoped first, but that goes for any calibre tbh, but yes if you can afford it a new rifle is a good plan. Quote Link to post
