The Sporting Whippet Club Dog Show and Race day at Dunsilly Kennells Sunday 26^th April 15.

 

 

Sunday 26^th April 15 was the first Show of the year for the Sporting Whippet Club NI in the picturesque surroundings of Dunsilly Kennells, Co Antrim

 

We arrived in the field at 10.30am with our Whippets in tow, and after setting up the ring and trophy tent, it became very evident the first whippet show of the year at Dunsilly was going to be a great success, and well on its way.

 

There was an exceptionally large turnout of Whippets, Baby pups and Pups along with their young handlers, and our sports men and women of tomorrow. I can see some competition on the Whippet circuit in 2016, when all these beautiful baby pups and pups mature.

 

Sunday was new membership day. It was unbelievable the overwhelming interest in new membership. Safe to say our membership has quite literally doubled from last year. Onwards and upwards.

 

It was nice to see so many new faces at Dunsilly on Sunday, as well as the regular loyal, existing members of the Sporting Whippet Club NI. It was a pleasure meeting up again and chatting with Victor Mc Donald, the owner of Dunsilly, and his little grandaughter, whom he is dying about. Definitely grandas favourite little girl. She is just beautiful and the spit and image of her mother Linda Mc Donald.

 

The weather was brilliant, and time passes so quickly when you are enjoying yourself. Soon it was time for to start the showing.

***Best In Show, and qualifer for the 5 Nations Whippet Champion of Champions at Shanes Castle in June 15.

As usual the showing and racing was all star quality.

 

Many thanks to the judge on the day Tracy Gill for a job well done. Lets not forget the Chairman of the club Paul Reynolds, and vice Chairman John Mc Stay and their hard working committee for organising another great family day out at Dunsilly.

 

The next Sporting Whippet Club NI Dog Show and Raceday is Sunday 17^th May15, at Dunsilly Kennells , Antrim. This show will also be a qualifer for the 5 Nations Whippet Champion of Champions at Shanes Castle in June 15.
