Picked myself update mf sigma 500mm f8 mirror lense other day pretty cheap so gave it a try

It's extremely unforgiving with focus got to really try nail it to the mm or destroys images

And obviously causes mirror bokeh but I quite like that

Here is best of a big bunch

Thaughts please should I sack it?

Hi mate...don't want to pi$$ on your chips...but I've had one and they are garbage. They would be ok if you lived in africa and F8 didn't matter...but the truth be said, they are not a lense for the UK....

I wasn't expecting much from it to be honest but get the focus right can get a decent image not the same quality as my nikon lenses but a fraction of the cost looks like a bleeding telescope though all images are extremely under exposed so without lightroom I agree there useless but 40 quid lense above images are acceptable I think as with film I enjoy testing stuff lol

i was wondering about the mirror lenses. strange look to those pics. might be good for the eclipse. i suppose its like anything else. you get what you pay for bud. i'm still saving for a long lens i need something for deer and foxes. in the spring.good luck with the lens. as a ps did it come with a tripod ?
