Hard work

Recommended Posts

Went out this morning to the local golf course that i have permission on for a mooch. Set the nets on a 8 holer and collared up the jill and in she went sat back and waited. About 10 minutes passed and no bolters there was definatley something in otherwise she just comes out . Out with the locater and she is working the tubes back and forth then she stops get reading 4 ft down. Out with the spade start diggin what i thought would be a easy dig jesus it was like rock. Took me 20 minutes to get 2 ft down she was still there stop end i guessed kepted on diggin and was nearly on top when she moved. Turned around and out she came carried on diggin and broke through alas there was the rabbit just the 1 good healthy bugger no mixy on it . Hard work just for the 1 rabbit but it was worth it and it`ll keep the ferts happy . Hope the next time i go out there`s no diggin required . Happy hunting FV ;)

To be honest mate i would have given the ferret longer before rushing in with the spade, if you had waited you probably wouldnt of had to dig at all.

What did the greenkeeper say about digging up his golfcourse I wonder :whistling:

Granted he might not have had to dig to get the ferret back but the rabbit would have been wasted. :hmm: But I see what your saying about waiting a bit longer all the same, its just not my style to leave dead rabbits everywhere. To each his own.

I ferret on golf courses all the time and if you have to dig you have to dig. If your carefull and take sod of turf off then you can do a pretty good job of patching it up without it lookin that obvious. Plus I doubt the warren was on the fareway or the green (Im about to get proven wrong here I can tell :D).

Anyway ferretville well done for getting out at least you got a bunny to show for it mate, think of digging as exercise lol! :showoff:

I know were your coming from ginge but this set they either bolt straight away or just stay. What i forgot to mention was when the jill came out we left it for 10 minutes just in case anything decided too bolt. In any case it did`nt so that`s when i went back to the spot were the jill last resided. I ain`t leaving rabbits down there whether alive or dead. The set was on some rough at the side of the fairway . Imagine the locals doing there nut me digging half there greens and fairways up  don`t think i would keep me permission for long happy ferreting folks FV :bye:
