Theres Ferrets Then Theres Ferrets

Recommended Posts

Good Jills are hard to find. . . I've wasted 2 seasons on well bred Jills in the past ,Waiting for them to come good. . . And sometimes they just don't.

No matter how many times they go down and how many they bolt..they are just not hunting. . . there just going through the pipes and passing rabbits.

True ya cant beat hobs... but you got to have a Jill to breed.... And i will never ever breed from a jill that isn't as good as my hobs.

very true but I've found if you breed good hob to average Jill not suit Jill you tend to get good hobs in the litter obviously you get a fair amount of wastage I have a Jill of around 7 inches long put to a average sized hob I get good working small hobs

one of them days vin,, :icon_eek:

Great day Jim. . . 3 easy digs.. 7 manky Mixy bunnys from the sedge grass with the dogs mooching about. and 9 fat healthy bunnys.. But I know for a fact if had the hobs out i would have scored double. , ,easy.

Both mk3 locators conked out. . .one still don't work. and the brand new one is reading at least 1 foot out at close range and says 6 ft when its 4ft.

Old grey box is coming out of retirement again..lol.

Problem i think stem from nobody asks are my ferrets good enough to be breed from ? before they breed them a lot of the younger folk give no thought to bringing jills out of season and the easiest option is to breed it rather than get the jill jab or get a snipped hob and a few think they will make money selling kits at up to £20 each
