*The*Field*Marshall* 674
OK, fleas aside. I was given a lovely little working gill from an old boy who giving the game up. Now she came into season not long after I got her (mid July, late I know ?) So for obvious reasons I put my hob to her over three nights, job done, she came out. I separated her accordingly and upped her feed (I like to keep my ferrets like my dogs, lean) So she started putting on weight and I did my ground work (finding them homes) I've always kept hobs in the past so not particularly familiar on pregnancy progress, but again did my homework. The gill was getting nice and round and I was anticipating I little batch of nippers, as mentioned elsewhere I've been working a lot lately and lost track of time a bit, so yesterday I checked up on time passed - 8 weeks! Hmmm so I go to the gill for a closer look (I just assumed previously) after a bit of feel and research I concluded that it was fake pregnancy and the weight she'd put on was down to the deluxe food intake! Any first hand insight on this? Thanks Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
If it was a first time mother she could have had a small litter and eaten them. 1 Quote Link to post

*The*Field*Marshall* 674
Maybe so Bob, and yes it would have been her first litter. But more than likely I think it was a case of the first instance of the above post, not fertile and the roly poly effect came from over feeding! She back to normal now, so all's well.
