zx10mike 137
you don't want a 204 for target work buddy.great for varminting ,brass and bullets hard to come by i have one.for target work you want heavy bullets with a good bc .22 br or 223 fast twist is the smallest i would go for target shooting. ianm 2,594
I have two .204s and use them both for everything up to deer, however i don't shoot targets except to zero. I don't have any problems getting brass, bullets etc for them. I used to have a .223 but when i got the first .204 it never came out of the cabinet again so i sold it and bought another .204.I wouldn't entertain a .222, .223 now after shooting a .204 and everyone i know who has swapped from .223 etc wouldn't go back. One potential problem is they aren't deer legal but .22 c/fires are only legal for cwd or muntjac in England anyhow and seeing as there are none where i go it doesn't matter, i will use my .243 for anything else. zx10mike 137
mmmm my 223 used to shoot 75 amax and i would wager it has half the wind drift of a 204 .elv is easy to compensate. norman clark and countryman of derby are out of brass and 39sbk are due in some time next year talking to guys in america and they have to que for brass.i love my 204 and don't know it all but that is what i think. i shot the 223 out to 800 ok in f class would not care to try it with a 204.only reason i parted with a 223 is i went 7mm for target and 204 for vermin. Sorry guys, did not explain myself very well when i said target shooting i dont mean serious stuff just the odd bit of paper punching, and milk jugs ect... used to have a .223 but sold it early this year, i use my .22K hornet for fox now, just fancied something a bit different .. ThanksAgain... Quote Link to post
