Guest Ditch_Shitter
Aye. They're what I've always known as " Shaggy Ink Caps ", mate. I believe there might be two differant types of Ink Caps; Those ones are said to be edible ~ not sure the other sort are. Personally, I don't eat fungii, period. Taste like earth to me  Likes of our Jukler or Billy Bunter are the lads to advise ye on stuff like that
juckler123 707
Thems lawyers wigs as you say shaggy ink caps is there usual name now i dont bother with em much as they go down to nothing there o.k to eat the caps dont bother with the stems and tasty mixed with scrambled egg and a touch of garlic and as Ditch says beware of the smooth variety common ink cap i believe if you eat them and drink anything alchaholic it can give you a bad turn. They dont last long before they go to mush better to pick the little buttons and once youve found em they will be there all winter having a few flushes a lot grow on the sides of roads dont be tempted to eat them they absorb all the contaminents from car exhausts. Deffo worth eating though Best thing about fungi is they top up the zink levels and you will find that with eating fresh shrooms every year there better than the flu jab for keeping colds at bay. Cheers for that, mate. That's just what I was looking for. Only I saw a programme once - Inspector Morse type of thing - whereby some woman had been done in by eating Ink Caps and then alcahol became involved. Only I couldn't quite remember the detail
