maktayla 50
Hi guys Any advice on these chokes I've pictured. They've been in my safe for quite sometime now. I have no use for them and I'm trying to raise every little penny toward a rifle. I have absolutely no idea what size chokes they are. As you can see the choke key is with them. On the left hand choke i can see the letters: PB-CL-SP C**** The stamping is too faded on the other choke to make out what it is. This may, or may not, mean something but if I can ask you what these might be worth, (if anything) I can put them up for sale and know what to word them as. Every penny helps Thanks Quote Link to post
Lid 194
Those are Beretta mobile chokes. I reckon the marked one is improved cylinder and steel shot compatible. See here. I can't remember what they are worth second hand though. Edited July 19, 2014 by Lid Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
Thanks for the link Lid. I can see on the site as you described. PB= Manufacturer (Pietro Beretta) CL= Now I can see CYL on the site but I cannot find CL. I have to agree with you, it's probably Cylinder. SP= Steel Proof You've been a big help. Thanks. Now I've just gotta find out what they're worth Quote Link to post
Lid 194
I not sure about the CL too, but I think the C**** mean improved cylinder, ie 1/4 choke. I have got a full set somewhere and when you line them up, it is easy to see the changes in constriction from cyl through to full. There's a skeet one too which is designed to effectively be a slightly negative choke. Quote Link to post
Lid 194
BTW it looks like they are around £25 new these days. Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
Thankyou for your help Lid. Do you think i could get a tenner for the two? Quote Link to post
Lid 194
I reckon you should ask a bit more, say £15 if you can identify the choke of the unmarked one. However I've just realised that the choke key my be for different style chokes. I'm not sure which, but you probably need to sell that separately. I just found mine and my choke key looks like this one: Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
Yes. Clearly a difference Lid. I have tried ithe choke key on the chokes and all seems to fit. I'll put them up for a few quid. See how it goes. Trying to raise as much money as I can toward my rifle. Its pain stakingly slow Quote Link to post
