Next 6 shows coming up on the Showing and Racing Calendar.

 

This Sunday 20th July
Sporting Whippet Club NI
Dunsilly, Antrim. Really looking forward to this one. Always a great family day out. Hope the weather keeps up.

 

This Sunday 20th July
Kevin Ms Show,

Kevin M,Pat Lynam, and The Westmeath working Terrier Club will be holding their show Sunday the 20th of July in Moate Co.Westmeath. All money raised on the day will be going to the IWTF to help with the running.

Tom Barrys Show, Flapping Track, Feaghbridge, Coalisland.
A Great Day out for all the family.Full itinery on this site next week. One of my favourite shows of the year.

Tullylish Working Terrier Club Show

Tullylish Annual Dog Show and Race day, Sat 2nd of August 14, to be held in Lawrencetown, Co Down. The day starts with simulated coursing for Whippets and Lurchers at 11.30am, followed by Showing for Terriers, Lurchers, Whippets and Strong Dogs at approx 1.30pm. There will be a separate ring on the day for Bullcross Lurchers. Weight pulling and Straight Racing will follow the showing. The NI Champion of Champions will be held on this day. All Champions and Reserve Champions from Northern Shows will automatically qualify for this Championship.Will be Sign posted from Gilford and Banbridge, Any queries contact John Barry 07519216378, Club Secretary.

Gene Gallaghers Dog Show and Race Day Saturday 2nd August 14

Will take place this year at Grange Co Sligo( Part of Sligo Agriculture Show ) on Saturday 2nd August 14. ( Full Details later) Always a great day out.

      I Am Free

      To Love, to live, to hunt, to show my treasured Whippets, or play. 
      I found a peace at close of day.
      Be not burdened with the times of sorrow
      I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
      Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
      Do not lengthen it now with undue grief
      Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me
      God wanted me now,  
      He set me free.
      John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.

      Hi folks just an update on our show,
      This show is without doubt Irelands largest fundraising dog show, in only four years of bringing this show back to life, we are very proud to have raised £41000 for cancer related charities…
      This year we returned to Daisy lodge cancer fund for children, a local charity that does amazing work for kids and families affected by cancer….  We smashed last years amount of £14000 to reach an outstanding £17000….  
       
      We would like to thank every person who has supported our show, sponsorsed and donated gifts for an amazing raffle..   We had over £1500s worth of prizes for the raffle….  A very special thanks to Margaret Mcstay for advertising, The legend dog racing team of the McGrath Family, Dwtc for ongoing support, And  Burren working dog show team.. Thanks everyone and roll on 2026….   A show not to miss

      ****Great News for Our Dog Show Fraternity  in 2026 Re : 5 Nations/Mick The Miller/MasterMc Grath **** Carlow
      It has been decided by the Mc Grath Lurcher Racing Club and by kind permission of  Mr AJ Titterington of The Great Game Fairs of Ireland, that their Annual Dog Show event in Carlow 2026 will take place over a two day event. 
      *Saturday the 27th June 26 will be Showing only for the 5 Nations and All Ireland Showing.
      *Sunday 28th June will be for Racing Only for the Master Mc Grath / Mick the Miller and All Ireland Racing. 
      Please note, All dogs that have qualified for the 5 Nations/Mick The Miller and Master McGrath in 2025 will again automatically be qualified for 2026 event. If a dog that has won a show is already qualified in 1st or 2nd then the qualifier will go to 3rd place.
      This is just a heads up for now, full details and schedule will be issued at later date.
