Sling Studs For Airwolf

Hi guys has anyone fitted sling studs to a airwolf . I have heared conflicting opinions as to which ones should be fitted .butt one not a problem but fore end some say a srew in one is

ok some say it should go through with a nut on the back . I intend to fit a bipod.

I've got 2 airwolf stocks, both with front sling studs.

The one that I use all the time I drilled and screwed in myself, the other has a nut/plate on the back and that was from the factory, but I've not used that one, I am going to give it a good oiling, but I've not got around to it yet.

I think I might send it in to daystate it will cost about 40 quid .dont mind paying to get it done right , only thing is I think they need it for a couple of weeks .

Best be quick, Daystate factory is closing down on the 25th (-04th aug) for a holiday.

Mine has standard uncle mikes studs fitted mate and use a bipod frequently any competent gunsmith/RFD can fit them or alternatively you could get the following for front stud

Pop over to SFS, they should be able to sort you out.

They said that they wouldn't fit them because the stocks fore end can split .i have phoned round a few shops who all said it's basically not worth the hassle .the price they could charge for fitting them isn't worth risking splitting the fore end .

DIY or Daystate then.

 

I put the stud into the bit where it gets thicker just before the filler valve hole.

I can't fill with the bipod on, but it's no real hassle to take it off for the infrequent fills.
