ruby 7
Cleaned my hen hut out today and noticed a couple of little black fleas scurrying about in my socks!Any advice please on what to treat my hens and hut with.Last year I saw some red crab like creatures that layed piles of white eggs at the base of a feather around the tail,I sprayed the hens with front line and the last one I did died instantly don't know if it was the front line(I know its not licenced for birds)or I just scared it too much.It cleared the hens but I don't want another dead bird. chillitt 0
also good(if you can find it..) is diatamaceous earth, you can spread it round the pen, in there food, on the birds, it kills all the bugs and stops em getting internal parasites too.. Guest A Sick Old Man
I use Columbine spray for the Red Spider Mite, its very good stuff, but do not use the eggs for two days after spraying. Red Spider Mite is no big thing so do not worry, at least your birds are fortunate that you are taking good care of them
Chainman 8
you can get special louse powder for birds or im sure the pigeon lads give the pigeons ivermectin will check 2moro for you i always spray my chicken sheds with duromitex regular during the summer months to keep red mite down and any other bugs
