Land Clearance

Hi,

I've had my firearms for a while but only ever used it on the land originally cleared during my visit. I have now been invited by a friend to shoot on his land that I know has already been passed for my calibers, he shoots the same as me on a "closed" ticket...22lr and .223

My question is do I need to call in and ask the police before I start shooting or as I know its clear can I just go ahead?

Firstly make sure YOU have permission to shoot there. (i.e your mate's permission covers guests.) If you have and it's cleared, you're good to go.

 

But I'd still double check with the relevant force that the land is cleared, just for my own peace of mind.

I should be ok for permission, he's the gamekeeper so can't see it being an issue but maybe get it in writing?

And I reckon you're right, may as well make a quick call and know I'm good to go
