  1. Like leslie sais beans can be good, its all about reconnaissance Once you've found em feeding the decoying bit ispretty simple
  2. If they grow sprouts the pigeons will sometimes feed heavily on them, really to get decoying to work well you do need a food source they are used to eating anyway, you do the reccon, find the birds then decoy in that area generally but you may pull a few down if you have a nearby flightline.
  3. Call your FEO and ask them, it will depend on experience so time youve had ticket, ammo use etc. If you've been calling to clear land regularly that should help (probably mainly cause it will save them work!)
  4. what scope are you using also what ammunition subsonic or high velocity. When you say losing zero about 100 shots is this continuous shooting or occasional vermin where only a few shots are fired Thats a good point, if they are in quick succession could just be barrels getting hot...
  5. Tbh I don't clean mine every 100 rounds but I think it's more likely to be dirty barrel than anything. With hardly any recoil I can't see how the mounts or scope would shake loose after a while, maybe a dodgy batch of ammo causing more fouling than usual?
  6. If I was you I'd try cleaning it when it loses zero, see if that works then mounts/scope etc.
  7. Norfolk is a lot quicker than that, when i first got mine not that long ago it was less than a month from start to finish......cant be that much to it if they can go that quick.
  8. I should be ok for permission, he's the gamekeeper so can't see it being an issue but maybe get it in writing? And I reckon you're right, may as well make a quick call and know I'm good to go Thanks:)
  9. Hi, I've had my firearms for a while but only ever used it on the land originally cleared during my visit. I have now been invited by a friend to shoot on his land that I know has already been passed for my calibers, he shoots the same as me on a "closed" ticket...22lr and .223 My question is do I need to call in and ask the police before I start shooting or as I know its clear can I just go ahead? Many thanks in advance Peter
  10. There's plenty who don't like Hatson's for sure but several that do also, my mate has one that he got for doing the stuff he didn't want to wreck his other guns doing and reckons for the money its great.. Uses it a lot but he is very careful re service, cleaning and the like. I was simply telling Andrew his options
  11. For £300-£350 you can get a new hatson semi auto, multi chioke 3" and steel proofed or if you search around a "better" make second hand, there are actually a few second hand Remington 1100 on guntrader at the moment in that price range You can use it for whatever you like, it wouldn't be welcome on a driven shoot usually but a great wildfowl or pigeon option and fine for most other things too, if you get a multi choke you may find it more flexible but 1/2 choke and changing the cartridge is the way many go... I don't see why you think it would improve your performance though, unless its rec
  12. I learnt to shoot with one of these!! Still gets a ride out ratting or rabbiting on occasions, handy little guns Someone will get a great gun cheap there....good luck with the sale
  13. This is spot on.....breed the dog for it's strengths, not the breed on reputation...
  14. That's perfect, thanks very much boss... ?
