Pike...

I'm after advice on 2 things -

 

1) After not fishing for a few years i'm starting pike fishing again, the place i alwys used to fish seems dead & have been told there are not many pike there now, does anyone know of a good place in south yorkshire? i'm near doncaster & mainly have lure fished but enjoy bait fishing.

 

2) I'm thinking of starting a cold water aquarium & want a pike around 6 inch, If anyone can get me one i'll pay & collect.

The river Went near sykehouse is always good this time of year, or the north ponds in Thorne( other side of the railway bridge to the delves).

you will be lucky to get a pike that small

Im going to the river went tonight for a walk, i will check out the banks and the weed floating etc

Thanks! I've caught a few that small on small spinners, i was wondering if trying to find one lamping would work?

Askern clay ponds got some nice pike in it up to 27lb Wents one of my favourites for allsorts but never had a trout out

River don holds some nice stuff aswell

Had a little look out over the weekend for pike on the deat bait, found the place was far too weedy, this was only the canal mind you but it does hold some decent size pike about, could this be because the weather still isnt really that cold? In the end we had two out, was a decent jack, but not brilliant, and the other was just wel...wasnt worth catching lol. Ahh well, ill have beter look next time.
