resistance 189
Do you guys vary your ferrets food often ? I change it up every couple days Quote Link to post
vanman1 411
Cracking photos mate ,when i get with the 21st century IL post some up lol. Yes i try to vary there diet as much as possible ie not the same thing 2 days in a row its not always possible but if you can i think its good for em,i wouldn't want to eat the same dinner day after day would you? It really pays to have a freezer imo, especially if you have a few ferrets.Just had butch through mine they have: Skinned bunny Fluffy bunny pigeon pheasant duck offal venison mackerel dry kibble plus ive always got a few tins of sardines, cat food around, they also get any live prey the bloody cat brings home and drops in the front room and then just sits there expecting me to do something with it lol 2 Quote Link to post

vanman1 411
BTW mine won't even look at cat food! Like there ferret biscuits though! Yeah mine like the biscuits two,but by Christ do they drink a lot with em compared to meat I always keep a few tins of cat food in case i get held up at work its easier for the Mrs to pop out and feed em for me.If its good quality and there hungry there eat lol, mind you my lot only like it in jelly not gravy lol. I also use it when i got young kits i find they manage it better than a carcass at first,i also add dry biscuits with it, small bits at first then slowly working up to hole biscuits bits of flesh etc .Works for me 1 Quote Link to post

ruggers13 268
What fish do you give them tinned or fresh ? Quote Link to post
vanman1 411
Both mate, iam lucky i have a small boat so this time of year i go out and bag up on the mackerel (lovely on the bbq ) The rest go in the freezer for the ferrets. My Mrs keeps an eye out when shopping for deals, sardines ,pilchards etc as long as its in brine or water my lot love em.Occasionally a food barn near me does a special like 3 tins for a quid so the mrs buys like 30 tins etc .It don't go off, its cheap and they love it . You could buy sardines etc in tomato sauce if the price is right but my lot don't like it even if i wash the sauce off fussy feckers lol 1 Quote Link to post
