Time To Stalk

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering, how much time would you spend stalking a rabbit in these conditions:

The field is the size of a football pitch, all pretty much short grass, no hiding places or the alike. You're around the middle at the side of the field, and the rabbit is in the top corner on the opposite side.

How would you stalk the rabbit?

How much time do you think you would take?

Slowly and steady. Or until you stuck out like a sore thumb and the rabbit does one!!

In a situation like that you better off sitting in wait and letting them come to you. So to speak.

This is my issue mate.

On the permission I'm on about, I'm getting to know the area better, and it's a damn hard stalk. I'm looking more towards the sit and wait system, but the rabbits around there are super cautious. Have waited for 1.5 hours before and not a single rabbit came out.

Far down south. Near the Devon border. I usually hunt just south of the border (haha, I sound like an American that hunts in Mexico), or like someone from The Game of Thrones.....winter is coming!
