Applying For A Fac

Recommended Posts

I dont think he has any intention of shooting into trees with a firearm! He has already taken on board the fact that he may be granted a rifle, with a shooting from elevated position condition(as per our very own Tornado 1979) . If I was the OP I would also be looking at getting some permission on a neighbours land that is passed for .22/.17 as this will strengthen your case enormously

Yeah but he did mention that he might use an air rifle for that purpose.

I was just pointing out that even an air rifle is potentially dangerous when used on elevated targets unless you ensure you have plenty of land behind the trees that you can see is clear of people (remembering that an elevated shot will travel much further).

If it was me I would ask about a hmr when the feo visits, emphasise that the jacketed polymer tipped bullet is far less likely to ricochet than a .22 lr bullet, it will demonstrate that you have done your homework and are thinking about safety, if he or she starts umming and arrring over it, step in with the elevated condition, say you are quite prepared to put up high seats to shoot from, and see if you can gain some more permission, what area are you in pal?

Hi,I am in Kent ,near canterbury. Thanks for the advice that is what I will do.Just tried ringing them no one is there until 12.as you can see from the pictures there are plent of big trees. If I sat up one near the byway I would be shooting away from that.

Ground starts about 20 yards behind me in the first picture and ends behind the fieldshelter come football net in the distance.

That football net is a field shelter/barn,I don't think I would be applying for a FAC if I had kids running about playing football

Thanks Graham.
