charlie caller 3,654
The pepper laminate sporter, I dont care for thumb hole stocks, I was a little concerned at first as the new stock free floated the barrel, and the Weatherby vanguard uses pressure bedding, after speaking to a rifle builder aquaintance of mine, he said you will have to suck it and see, as it could go either way, well it went the right way apart from having a recess target crown done when I had it screw cut, and a little play with the trigger it is standard, I was going to glass bed it, but after a re zero with the new stock, it will shoot a ragged 5 shot group @ 100 yards, so I think I will leave it for now that was a couple of years ago (ish) and so far it has held zero 100%, I would reccomend a Boyds stock very highly. Alsone 789
Nice. I love Pepper and Nutmeg. The others, I'd have to see in person before buying as some look a little extreme and you just can't tell until too late. I take it by Sporter you mean a "Classic" shape? Classic, Heritage, Prairie Hunter all like look shapes I could identify with in the non thumbhole range. Quote Link to post
