England do not have a defensive midfielder Imho . Lamps and Stevie G are constantly checking to see who is holding the breech as they attack....Gerrard Pushed forward too much as Lamps was sitting last nite....It should have been vice versa as LAMPS IF FAR MORE EFFECTIVE AT DINKING BALLS in and around the 18 yd line, where as Gerrard can hit a 6 pience from 50 ydsand the space allows him to play his fast counter attacking role...which was lacking last night But to push Rooney wide right is just Crass amatuerism from the swede Rooney is best given a free role upfront cause he terrifys defenders with his pace and strength , england need Butt back asap as he doesnt mind covering the back 4 and can put the foot in when it gets rough.... And as for Hargreaves , how many chances will he get ???????? Beckham needs dropped like a hot stone cause his bottleless challenges far outweigh his contribution. barraboy 28 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Share Posted September 8, 2005 if your looking for a real holding player, micheal carrick would be your best option to sit back and let SG and FL go forward, and im not sure SWR is best suited as a wing back in a 3-5-2 . at the moment erickson is accomading beckam at the expense of the team. the passion is there but erickson seems unable to bring it out on the day the irish TEAM played better than the english players.
