mickeyfn19 16
hi peeps. my mate managed to loose my airtube from my fx t12. im just wondering if i could make one from stainless steel? would it be too heavy? would it be strong enough to withstand such pressures? 1 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Yes it's possible but you would have to make sure the tube is pressure rated and your end caps and threading are spot on. 220 bar 3200 psi is a fair pop if a thread slips. You will have to consider the OD and wall thickness but I wouldn't have thought weight would be that noticeable. Quote Link to post
mickeyfn19 16
right, threading isnt an issue as my friend is a professional lathe turner. as for wall thickness i was just going to try and copy the original. 1 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Give it a go mate. Just make two blanking ends. One with a "return" or open valve so you can purge the cylinder via the fill reg and slowly pressure test before giving it full welly. Quote Link to post
mickeyfn19 16
yes will do mate. i think my friend actually has access to a proper pressure testing facility Quote Link to post

mickeyfn19 16
honestly. i dont have a clue. ive looked everywhere so someone must have just went into the workshop and took it. they probably use it to stir paint or something :'( however this gives me the chance to make a bigger air cylinder so Quote Link to post
