Chubs 0
Tonight i took my boy out lamping for the first time, he loved it but to be honest i think he's fonder of shooting rats, less walking involved, he's only 5 mind. Not a great pic but my stud whippet is on here too, supposedly a show strain but nobodys told him that! Quote Link to post

Chubs 0
thanks lads, my little lad says thanks as well & wanted me to 'send' everyone another pic which he chose, The reason i'm grinning like a 'special' kid is i'm saying cheese to try get lad to smile, i really don't get that excited over two rabbits! I call the stud whippet 'kenneth the racist rapist' cos he grinds on anything but didn't like mike my black dog, just call him ken though since the boy repeated it! Lucky & frank - get your boys out lamping rats round barns! Jake said it was a bit 'spooky' (his words l.o.l) at first but there's hardley any walking at all & it's a really high success rate which is what they need as you know success breeds success & with a kids 2 second attention span it's just the ticket. Stevie E 66
Great to see the younguns involved too much distractions for them these days playstations and other consoles making kids stop inside all day ,ive got 5 ,1s too young to go ,2 aint interested one bit,the other two love even though ones a girl of 3 ,she took 2 rabbits of the dogs yesterday during a stroll and cant wait to go ferreting/lamping when shes a older.Only downside is she tells the nursery teachers and anybody else how the dogs and her catch the rabbits! Sounds great mate, we do love to kill the rats! the whippet does need a fair bit more work just to see what he will & won't do, If anyone wants a k.c stud though he's ready for that just not lurcher stud. Good luck with the whippet as a stud. He's about 21 inch i tink frank, i got the spiel about ratting from an article i read about getting your kids in to fishing, basically go out and catch as many little fish as possible & as soon as they look bored take them home. Chubs 0
chubbs the pups looking well as is the whippet.the young lad is delighted I bet,he just doesnt know how to show it You happy with his progress?I think my Willow has clicked onto the retrieving game at last.Well pleased I am with him. I'm happy with both dogs, The lurcher 'flick' is a good solid worker that puts her all in & listens well, who wants to be part of a team, tenacious little fecker & She always picks up what i want her to do quickly compared to most young dogs i've had. I think the tiny bit of collie in her (1/16th) has come through quite a bit which some times i like but is sometimes frustrating, you can watch her think things through, i like a dog that doesn't think too much. Over all she is my favourite dog i own. The whippet 'ken' really does love to hunt & is very keen he just needs to pick up better, he comes back when called well & has quite a bit of staminer, he is older than flick but not even close to her maturity, i've not owned him long & bought him as my missus wanted a dog to show  but he's gonna be a useful little rabbit dog. If anyone is interested in using him as a k.c stud he's free until proven. The pair do make a very good little team. Edited to say - JIGSAW - how's your pup after it's accident?
