treecreeper 1,136
Went out on a new permission last night, its only a little riding school but when I called in the other day the owner said they had seen some rats knocking about and its close to home. I had a quick wonder around and agreed to go back the week after. I rocked up before it went dark to get my bearings. After all the horses were sorted and people gone I had the run of the place. The yard is about 70 yards long with a paddock at the bottom and a stable block running down the left and then a smaller stable on the right at 90 degrees. I had a look about a few times didn't see anything so I walked to the end of the yard where the feed is stored in a cabin. I stood up in front of the second stable block looking at the feed cabin and spotted the first one squeezed the trigger and it flipped and managed to scuttled off under a pile of stuff. I turned around 180 and flicked the nv back on to see a big rat bouncing towards me about 8 yards and through the fence into the training yard. It then must of turned back on itself heading for the dog kennel complete with food right at the side of me, it screeched and ran past my feet. I walked around to get a better angle to see under the feed cabin. bingo well sort of there was rubble underneath so all I was seeing was a quick flash and they were away up a hole. took a few shots with no joy, decided to cut my loses and clear all the rubble out to get a clear view for next time. I had a quick look where I had seen the big one and saw one sat up on a plank, just as I was lining it up it decided to disappear, I waited a second and its head popped up again a little further left. squeezed the trigger and the exact dropped it with two little twitches from the foot. I decided to call it a night, happy that id dropped one and I knew the script for the next outing. http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab130/MattH85/IMG-20140324-00117_zps929c1d5f.jpg 1 Quote Link to post
