New to the forums. Thought i would say hello.

I am James.

My passions are,

Air rifle pest controll, which i have been doing for a number of farmers and shoots for a number of years. Favorite being ratting jobs, using lamp and night vision equipment as well as rabbits, do a bit of feral pigeon clearance but not so much recently. Got a Webley Venom Viper which outshoots me and i use for most my shooting. I also have a highly modifed XS78 which is another favorite of mine which brings me on to my next hobby. Got a couple others .. you know how it is i'm sure

Modifying and tuning airguns and DIY gunsmithing.

I have a side line in making custom air rifle stocks JRCustom, mostly active through the UKCAGF, my main thing is custom design and manufacture of stocks to your specs, asthetics and budget. All my airguns are tuned by me. I also have my SGC mostly for pest controll, pigeon decoying and rabbits, although i do get a fair bit of pheasant shooting from the shoots i help out on and beat for in the season. I have used my wood working skills to restock a 120 year old boxlock non ejector, and also restocked an 150 + year old provincial black powder shotgun, i am a big history buff so pitting my skills on a broken piece of history is just the best thing in my view! I shoot all the guns even the black powder muzzle loader which is just such larks.

Through the pest controll thing i have got polecats, three hobs, who are just the best, been doing the ferreting for about three years now, still seems to be plenty of little tit bits of info to learn. I want to do more netting and trapping, we net and shoot with the ferrets, but been looking to get a long net, and some gate nets for certain jobs i do and as i get more and more enquirys about ferreting jobs. Do a bit of squirrel trapping using fens, but not in a big way.

I spent a lot of my time on the land, i am passionate about shooting sports. I am an admin for firearms UK an organisation you might have heard of, through my work on the WHSmiths campaign, for which i was awarded by BASC last year.

As far a shooting and country sports go i have a pen in every pot, i was inspired to join mostly because i am looking hard for a dog, and the afore mentioned nets and from what i have seen its a good place to be with busy forums.

I am sure there is plenty i have missed out but i could talk all day about shooting.
