Fieldsports 155
I hope this is posted in a suitable section. Hello. My mate has broken the spring in his SxS 12g GunThe name on it says : De Luxe CountyThe spring that keeps the tension on the opening lever that breaks the gun has broken.I have taken it apart and found the problem.I have no idea where I would start finding one.My questions are1, Any Idea where I can buy one quickly2, Any one have one they could sell me please.3 Could I weld this ? If so what would be the best method.I have added some photos to show you what I am up against.I have photographed the broken part in two bits and then put it together so it looks like it should.Any help please ? 1 Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I wouldn't try and repair that one, the amount of pressure that spring gets put under it would likely fracture again, Those V springs are fairly standard and on almost all Side by Side guns, I'm guessing De Luxe is the model, do you know the maker's name? I have looked all over the gun and I can not see a makers name. It seems to say "De Luxe County" on the side plates but I can not see any other names. Put together it looks like a spanish varient but thats just a wild guess. Thanks Steve PS: What are them springs called ? I can maybe begin a search starting with the right terminology. 1 Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
I'm not clever with metals or welding but I'd guess this is some sort of high tensile steel, I'd guess welding may be a problem. No doubt someone who knows more than me will be along soon. Are you actually in Newcastle, there is a RFD round here who is actually an engineer/tool maker as well, I'd guess he may be able to make one, but worth exploring RFD etc your way for someone with the right skills, or parts. ATB! Yeah mate In Newcastle, well right near by. I will phone Bagnalls and some of the others to see if they have a spare bit. I take it the name of these will be the V top spring for a SxS ? Thanks Steve Quote Link to post

SportingShooter 0
Top lever spring they're called It does look like a Spanish gun and the parts are pretty standard on a lot of guns, An RFD may have an old gun in for destruction that he can take a spring off for you. Quote Link to post
