I wouldnt keep dousing him in chemicals though especially if he`s sore. To be fair it looks pretty localised, round the neck area suggesting they have been trying to get a grip of each other. It looks like the scabs are already coming of in the top pic, but he looks damp/sticky in the bottom picture, different males? Make sure his house is clean and dry to minimise the risk of infection.
