Cleaning Regime

Whats your cleaning regime iv just really started shooting fac rifles. Iv got a plastic coated rod, nickel brush and jag and swabs and parker hale powder solvent. How should I go aboit cleaning. Any links?

What caliber matey. If its a .22lr I was advised not to clean the barrel internally. I've put roughly 1200 rounds through mine and havnt cleaned it. I strip and clean the silencer and bolt every 1000 rounds

I get in the shower usually. Bit of soap and a sponge. I clean my rifles with a damp cloth if muddy and then dry and oil... Remove the bolt and wipe that down. Not hard...

you need to clean after every outing.its metal and metal rusts.or listen to fools and enjoy it whilst it lasts.

I've started cleaning rifles each time I've been out, just my preference.

 

I run a patch soaked in copper solvent through barrel, leave for 15 mins then run dry patches until clean.

 

I then spray some degreaser through barrel and catch at other end with paper towel, I then run patches through until clean again.

 

Then I put a patch through soaked with lubricant and run a dry patch after and store in cabinet.

 

Doesn't take me long now I've got into routine, I do this with rimfire and centrefire.

My gun gets fully dried off with a sponge and kitchen roll after ever outing then take the bolt out and silencer off . And leave them all in a utility room whee it's quite warm for a few hours before putting away. Should this be enough then just a thorough clean every now and Gain
