Hope you all had a great Hunting Season. Lets all go forward now to the Racing and Showing Season of 2014 in Harmony and Peace with our faithful Canine friends.

2 Great events coming up

Baltinglass Co Wicklow Sunday 30th March 14...

Baltinglass, Co Wicklow in the beautiful vale of Avoca, is holding a Lurcher Terrier and Whippet Show and Raceday in Baltinglass County Wicklow on Sunday 30th of March. This show is a qualifer for the 5 Nations Whippet Champion at Shanes Castle, a qualifer for 5 Nations Lurcher and Terriers at Birr Castle, and also a qualifer for the Master Mc Grath at Shanes Castle. Another big attraction at this show is the Digging Competition, and is also a qualifer for the all Ireland at Birr Castle.This show promises to be a great event, with Ferret judge /display by Hunter Crosbie. I hope to meet up with all you good Canine folk again from North and South of the border, and banish the winter blues away for another year. Cant wait.

Dessie Mackins Race Day Saturday 15th March 14

A Race Day Only will take place Saturday 15th March 14 in the Laurencetown area, on the Gilford Banbridge Road. This race day will be a qualifer for The Master Mc Grath at Shanes Castle, and a great start to the racing season. A work in progress at the moment. Full details later.

Folks come along and support these 2 great events, and start the showing and racing calender off for 2014.

      God wanted me now,

      John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.

      Hi folks just an update on our show,
      This show is without doubt Irelands largest fundraising dog show, in only four years of bringing this show back to life, we are very proud to have raised £41000 for cancer related charities…
      This year we returned to Daisy lodge cancer fund for children, a local charity that does amazing work for kids and families affected by cancer….  We smashed last years amount of £14000 to reach an outstanding £17000….  
       
      We would like to thank every person who has supported our show, sponsorsed and donated gifts for an amazing raffle..   We had over £1500s worth of prizes for the raffle….  A very special thanks to Margaret Mcstay for advertising, The legend dog racing team of the McGrath Family, Dwtc for ongoing support, And  Burren working dog show team.. Thanks everyone and roll on 2026….   A show not to miss

      ****Great News for Our Dog Show Fraternity  in 2026 Re : 5 Nations/Mick The Miller/MasterMc Grath **** Carlow
      It has been decided by the Mc Grath Lurcher Racing Club and by kind permission of  Mr AJ Titterington of The Great Game Fairs of Ireland, that their Annual Dog Show event in Carlow 2026 will take place over a two day event. 
      *Saturday the 27th June 26 will be Showing only for the 5 Nations and All Ireland Showing.
      *Sunday 28th June will be for Racing Only for the Master Mc Grath / Mick the Miller and All Ireland Racing. 
      Please note, All dogs that have qualified for the 5 Nations/Mick The Miller and Master McGrath in 2025 will again automatically be qualified for 2026 event. If a dog that has won a show is already qualified in 1st or 2nd then the qualifier will go to 3rd place.
      This is just a heads up for now, full details and schedule will be issued at later date.
