esoxluscious 44
After finally getting around to completing my FAC (Northern Ireland), i gave the company i have my sporting insurance with a quick call to ensure I dont make any silly mistakes, as over here everything, including sub-12ftpb air rifles have to go on a ticket there is no differentation between air rifle/rimfire/shotgun, the interesting thing though was there is now (maybe always been?) a 6 month 'buddy' system in place, anybody heard of this before? ianm 2,594
I presume the "buddy" system is a form of mentoring. Some area's try to impose this on you but it is not a lawfull requirement so can be refused, as i did. I don't know what the law is in NI so it may be compulsory, check though before agreeing to restrictive conditions. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Interesting, what were the results of your refusing a mentoring condition? Quote Link to post
ianm 2,594
Interesting, what were the results of your refusing a mentoring condition? I got a fac 1 week later with everything i applied for, .22, 17 hmr, .223 and .243 with no conditions apart from being closed. I had it opened for all calibres in less than 12 months and aolq added plus a variation for an additional .204. Quote Link to post
esoxluscious 44
thanks guys, i cant fathom how the buddy system in reality would work, bit of rant here but really a sub-12ft/lb air rifle and i need a license and 6 months supervision, however i could hazard a guess that theres alot of idiots running around the main land with cheap spring loaded air rifles taking pot shots at anything that moves!
