Company???

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have a hob ferret. He lives on his own and seems content, however many people have told me that i should get another one for company.. They say ferrets are much happier when ther are two or more of them together. :hmm: Is there any trruth in this? thanks all

Yeah ferrets are sociable animals mate like each others company to play etc but saying that ive got a 4 year ols ferret that has lives by himself away from the others all his life and is perfectly happy, if he seems ok i.e not pacing up and down looking bored or anything and your not keen on geting another just leave him be mate

I've always thought it was rather ironic that ferrets like company when you consider that polecats are solitary. :hmm: Having said that, all mine have always prefered company. Even when the last remaining of my first batch of three was on his own for several months and gradually became quite narky and aggressive; when I added two new ones he turned back into his old playful self again.

hi i have never owned ferrets before i was wondering what they are like to keep i heard that they stink  and bite alot but

this is just what i have heard so i may be wrong all the best

Well if you allow a ferret to go hungry & live in its own filth then yes thats correct :) but if you dont then its incorrect :D
